MY REVIEW:

I adored this book.  Colleen Helme knows how to combine humor, mystery, and wit serve it up on silver platter!   This was one of those don’t judge a book by it’s title because “Carrots” threw me but I read the blurb and had to check it out and I was amazingly shocked, I couldn’t put it down, I read this story in one evening.  I really like the cover too, it’s compelling to me, mysterious, and adventurous with a dash of humor.

After reading Carrots I do know one thing I wouldn’t want the ability to read minds, it’s really a scary thought (pun intended).  What she goes through with her husband and kids is especially hard to take.

I love how Shelby gets pulled into the mob scene and how it’s dealt with.  There is nothing cheesy about this story, it keeps you on your toes, and it kept me on my seat with the trouble Shelby gets into.  Never a dull moment, tons of action, and a dash of romance.  I cannot wait to read the rest of the Shelby Nichols Adventures which are all available now:

My Review:

This story had a 50 Shades of Grey vibe to it for me but written better, much better.  Set in New York, it’s filled with fiery love scenes, gory murder scenes, and mystery.  So this tale is not for the faint of heart.   The author wrote these scenes with vivid details and I was hooked within the first 10 pages, couldn’t put the book down.  You could feel the intensity between the two main characters, Cole and Grace; such passion and even desperation at times.   I never like to give away too much in my reviews so I’ll only say the antagonist in this story is one evil, demented SOB who is hell bent on revenge and will stop at nothing.  Which makes for an extremely intense read.   If your heart can take a few steamy satisfying sex scenes, and some very graphic murder scenes; I highly recommend this read.  Can’t wait for the next installment, It’s a Shame due out in December 2013.  You can find it on Amazon.
